Created in 1952 by Arne Jacobsen, the Ant chair is now a design icon. With its recognizable ant-inspired shape, this minimalist model was born out of a need at the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordic in Denmark. Initially designed for the company canteen, success didn’t come immediately because the item was so avant-garde… Yet today it is part of the flagship collections of the editor Fritz Hansen.
The Ant chair perfectly represents the strengths of Scandinavian design, both comfortable and all in finesse. Its slim steel legs topped by a warm wooden shell, guarantee strength and stability.
Lightweight and stackable, this seat fits easily into collective settings such as a restaurant, meeting room or workspace. Another icon of designer Arne Jacobsen, the Série 7 chair pairs perfectly with this model. In the same spirit, they are often found in the heart of the same decor.
