Cite du Desin is a genuine laboratory for research and innovation, experimental hub and strong institution for promotion of design. The Cité comprises three renovated buildings of the former Manufacture and two new facilites, namely the Platine. The Platine accommodates bright and modern event spaces comprising a 286 seats auditorium, 3 meeting rooms from 50 to 100 people and two exhibition halls of 800 and 1,200 sqm. This set up enables to host a large variety of events, inspired by creative and innovative atmosphere. Participants can enjoy Cite du Design exhibitions, visit Manufacture historical part and Observation tower, offering a stunning 360° view over the city.

First hub in France for design, Saint Etienne is listed as UNESCO creative city. European industrial capital in the XIXth century, the city gave birth to a number of inventions and daily life goods, produced namely by Manufrance. Today it is home to the High School of Art and Design and of the Cité du Design. The Cité aims to grow awareness of businnes and public players, scholars and public about design, innovation, invention and new forms of cooperation. The city is also known for its International Biennial of Design, attracting 200,000 visitors from all over the world.
