Like the DSW chair or the DAW armchair, the DAR armchair is part of the family of «Plastics chair» by the famous designer couple Charles & Ray Eames. These creations dating from the 1940s, were born during the Low Cost Furniture Design competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Seen back then as revolutionary pieces, they have since become icons of furniture design.
The DAR armchair («Dining Height Armchair Rob Underframe» being its full name) embraces the codes of the different models in the collection. It features the chromed steel wire crosspieces also to be seen in the RAR armchair, putting us in mind of the Eiffel Tower.
Elegant and welcoming, this armchair is usually found in living spaces such as a restaurant or a dining room. Sometimes on a podium, it knows how to remain sober while bringing allure to the scene. Depending on your layout, place a high or low table next to it.
